Jim is a long-time resident of Fayetteville, Arkansas. He graduated from Fayetteville High School and attended the University of Arkansas. He is currently the President of Basic Block Group. Jim has been very active in his community. He has coached Youth Baseball and Basketball and was the President of the Sherman Lollar Youth Baseball Association. He has been active with Fayetteville Baseball Boosters Association and with the Fayetteville Babe Ruth and Senior Babe Ruth Association. He has also been a past member and President of the Fayetteville Country Club Board. Jim is married to Carol Jenkins Hawkins and they have two children, Jay, 29, and Lindsey, 26 and one grandchild, Bobby, 3.
