Pagnozzi Charities hosts several events throughout
the year to support its mission and help bring attention to the Diamond Hogs.
In the spring, the Annual Alumni Reunion reunites the old and new for a weekend
of fun. Former players are invited to return to Baum Stadium to relive the glory
days and again step onto the field for a game of ball. They also get to see new
players take on new rivals on one of the nations best college fields. During the
baseball season, the charity also hosts two "promo nights" at Baum Stadium.
These nights help encourage attendance and drive ticket sales by giving away goodies
to ticket buyers. Pagnozzi Charities has sponsored Norm DeBriyn, Tom Pagnozzi,
Frank Broyles and Dave Van Horn Bobble Head Dolls and Norm DeBriyn Tee Shirt Night
in the past years.
Our newest event, the Grand Slam Celebration will become an annual event each
spring and will be held at the home of Tom Pagnozzi. This event is becoming one
of our best fundraising events for our charity. Sponsors and supporters gather
for food, entertainment and a live auction. Past auction items have included Razorback
ticket packages, autographed memorabilia and trips, which even include a VIP trip
to a St. Louis Cardinals series with Tom Pagnozzi.
As summer draws to an end, the charity begins to prepare for its biggest event,
the Tom Pagnozzi Charity Golf Tournament, Banquet and Sports Memorabilia
Auction. The fall events bring UA supporters, coaches, former players
and a cast of major leaguers together to raise money for the charity. In recent
years, the event has attracted the likes of Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman
Mark Grace and Atlanta Braves pitcher Russ Ortiz. Auction items have included
autographed baseballs, basketballs, footballs, jerseys, as well as trips and artwork.
